Sanat, felsefe, bilim, mantık ve matematik alanlarına dayalı düşünsel bir çalışmayı, oluşturduğu betik, video ve ses ögeleriyle çeşitli nesneler içeren enstalasyonlar içinde, belirli bir espasta, belirli bir zamanda, katılımcılarla birlikte, gösterisel bir tarzda, sanat olmak bakımından gerçekleştiren Sanat Tanımı Topluluğu özgün sanat yaklaşımını ve etkinliklerini 1977 yılından bu yana geliştirmektedir.
 

Leyla Dedeal was born in 1950. She lives in İstanbul. She finished the Section of Painting at Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University in 1991. From 1987 till now, she has participated in the making of The Definition of Art Group' works continuously.

Asuman Destecioğlu was born in 1966. She lives in İstanbul. She finished the Section of Painting at Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University in 1990. Beginning from this date, she has participated in the making of The Definition of Art Group' works continuously.

Şükrü Aysan was born in 1945. He lives in İstanbul. He finished the İstanbul State Academy of Fine Arts in 1969. He has continued on art studies in Paris between 1970-1975. He founded The Definition of Art Group in 1977 in İstanbul. Since then, he has participated in the making of the works of the group mentioned.
